or actually if anyone knows the resistance of the glow plugs i can work out the amperage.

The Engine Electrical workshop manual (
http://www.delica.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=7333 ) says the glow plugs should be 0.6 to 1.0 ohms at 20C; so theoretically 80A peak (though voltage drop and increasing resistance as the plugs heat up means you'll probably never actually see 80A).
