my fog light switch doesn't illuminate either, nor does my rear-defrost switch (until you turn it on)... I don't think the gate lock/unlock illuminates either on mine... I am however quite sure that all of those are supposed to!
Yup.... all 4 switches "down there" should be lit.... mine are all currently working. Bluish/white light when headlights are on and orange if the switch is activated.
Guess I'm lucky on that one but 've got the same drivetrain and wheel lock lights out. Will be following advice on other posts for those.
How about the power window switches. Are they supposed to light up.
Here's a weird question. Has anyone ever had something stuck in the cigarette lighter? My son plugged in his friend's FM transmitter for his iPod and the sucker will not come out. It's like has barbs on it.
Robin, re your question of 12 volt plug stuck in the cigarette lighter, often they have a method to tighten (ie make bigger) the metal strips that hold the plug in place they they dont joggle loose in the cigarette lighter. try turning it to the left (lefty loosy, righty tighty). Another tightening method is a little round knurled knob where the lower cord goes into the plug, turn the knurly knob lefty loosy. Good luck, Christine of the Tardis Deli.
Superbrightleds.com has some good information on LEDS at this link http://www.superbrightleds.com/led_info.htm, including a resistance calculator. I calcuate that a white 20mA 12v LED would require a 470r resistor. Having said that, all superbrightled.com products come with built-in resistors (double check their site, but that's how I understand it). You may be able to adapt the wedge type LEDs to fit these.

Still, you could use an LED, but you would need an appropriate resistor, no way around it.
Many LEDs (Especially the ones designed as replacement bulbs) have built in resistors, problem is, these actually look SMALLER than most LEDs (except obviously surface mount ones) I wonder if someone makes an LED "replacement bulb" in that size?
As for the marker lights... apparently I'm blind, didn't see them the first time through, but that's what I'm looking for!
Now why don't they seem to have any form of online ordering system...
I just changed out my bad bulbs and will be able to see the effects tonight, thanks 304, minor work for major happy.
(only took 20 min to change 3 out)
The rear window defarter switch has 2 lights in it and they are accessible from the back of the switch (i.e. you don't have to dissasemble it, just unplug it)
I was starting to lean towards doing the extra work to install LED's but with an average 10,000h bulb life, I think I will stick with the lightbulbs for the switches (Ok, and I'm just a little bit lazy!)
well I have a whole bunch to do... but I think I'm going to wait until the temperature gets about 20-30 degrees warmer... (ideally 40-50 degrees! but I'll settle for getting up to near zero at this point!)
Actually the rear gate lock switch doesn't light because it has the indicator in the instrument cluster. But I replaced three or four others this week. Very satisfying and cheap little task. Thanks for finding the bulb! And thanks to my wife for the use of her favourite tweezers, not that she knows ;)

Actually, the rear gate switch has two lights in it, I just changed them out this evening. The bulbs have little rubber...rubbers on them to cast a green light.
Also, the frog light switch has a single bulb in it AND a 20 amp fuse in line with the switch.
THe only light I have left to lamp up is the green AC on light. (I thought the amber AC light meant it was on, turns out that means it's off!)

Changed the burnt out bulb on the fog light switch as well with the 12v 60mA wire based bulbs (#7219), but it is still not working. Fuse and switch are ok, so I don't know where the problem could be. Any suggestions?
About a year ago I put festoon LED's in my interior. In retrospect I widh I had gone with a warm white instead of the bright white. THis site appears to have them about half the price of the site that I bought from, and they ripped me off on the shipping too.
However the problem on the Hong Kong site appears to be I cannot seem to find the length of the bulb, or the color rating (I seem to recall you need 37mm for the Delica):
