page 4-74 is the Defogger circuit

I'm not seeing the relay diagram in that document that I have? Is it in the same document in the version you have? Or a different document?

First up, the latest diagram ok'd by lrp:

Second, the two pages mentioned above in the "Supplement_1991_Electrical Wiring.pdf" (which is at the bottom of the list in the link to the manual), together, give you the full picture of how things are wired to the switch.
One shows what 4 of the wires are doing with the relay and the other is the other 2 wires which illuminate the switch when the lights are turned on. It took me a while to trace all the wires on the 2 diagrams and make sense of it all. The pdf is in four sections, the pages are in the fourth section, pages 41 & 74...
and third, I

It seems we might have different manuals. I can't locate this diagram in "Supplement_1991_Electrical Wiring.pdf" document I have

It's a real pain finding stuff in these manuals, especially the electrical stuff!
I'm torn between driving the van being my favourite thing to do and working on it being my favourite thing to do...

Agree. Although some work is more enjoyable than others :) Custom/modifications are definitely most fun.

Well... after all that decided to go with a toggle switch. Would've been more fun to use the original switches but getting 2 switches per space.
learned a lot about the wiring diagram though.
