Sweet! It sounds like it will be a good turnout! Let's not forget to raise a glass (cup 'o joe as we will be driving) to Mystery Machine!

Thanks guys - I've gotta work tomorrow which really sucks - but will make up for it tomorrow night! Image

Sounds like you guys are gonna have a great time - I love Victoria and it is certainly one of the places I'm conisdering living if I do decide to move to Canada.....

Have a good one and get lots of cool photos,

MM.

Just so you know, You've got crash space here for the next time you want to drop down and visit. Actually I wouldn't be surprised if you had the option of staying at a different place every night!

Many thanks for the invite - and I may well take you up on it!

Last time I was over I stayed all over BC with members of this club (only one night out of 3 weeks in a hotel! 8-) )

Here was my 'pad' in Victoria - a dockside apartment at the bottom of Chinatown, next to the Canoe Club pub.....

I'd hooked up with Surferboy from this club (2nd from right) and this is where I spent a few days crashing while exploring Victoria. Fell in love with the place!

Anyway - I'll hi-jack the thread no longer.....but thanks again for the offer.

MM

And I'd have thought the guy from the land of fish & chips would have stood out a mile!

I'm the one on the left (be nice now!)

You're not smiling with your mouth open, so I couldn't tell from the dental work who was the Brit ('Austin Powers' reference here, of course).

I was going to go with the more obvious "the non Canadian is the one WITHOUT a beer in hand!"

Hey all

It was nice to meet y'all today - it was good to see other van 'traits' and what the owners have done to their vans. Although I forgot most names, but can definitely tag you by your van 8-) - I'm now looking forward to getting to know my van a bit better - 4X4'n sounds great, and will get that back brake light fixed.

Cheers! K

mararmeisto - thanks for organizing the shin-dig. The idea of a vic chapter sounds great. Looking forward to those decals.

Should we make it a monthly event?

Okay, I'm going to stop fiddling with these two post and just make my wrap-up entry for today's event.

Good to see all who came today: five at Dallas Road; six for the drive; and then a seventh and eighth showed up at Gyro Park (one with and one without their Delicas).

In response to the questions:

-the stickers (MitsuMaples) will be made shortly (probably within a week or two). The intention is to distribute them at meets.

-timings for repeat meets will be up to the masses. I suggested today's after the get-together in January had been such a hit, and I felt a month had been sufficient time for another.

-the idea for 'chapters' was my idea, and I'll explain that more fully in another post. Short of it is that groupings of about 25-30 people in a 50-75km radius is a manageable number for most. The idea I have for a name of the Victoria chapter could be "VicaDeli" - rhymes with "Piccadilly" and is in keeping with the Victorian heritage of the city.

Finally, here are a couple of snaps from today's event. I like the edge-on shot: kinda looks like it should be on an advertisement brochure.

Here's a pic of the Moon Machine doing a water displacement demo (I think we need to go mudding soon, that puddle got run through about eight times!!)

I forgot to resize the posted group shot andnow it looks like we have a horde of Kei Delica's!
