transmission is stuck in 4wd

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

I neglected to mention that jacking up etc. was when all other options have failed.
This used to be a common problem with tercel 4x4s with un matched tires (snowies on the front / all seasons on the rear) and the drive line became so tightly wound up it was the only way to solve it.
In anycase, good luck, I hope it's something simple.

My tires are all the same size, so is jacking it up still relevant? Tryed all the tricks above, but no luck, still stuck.

You've got nothing to lose, however I think you've got an internal issue in the transfer box.

I'll take it in to a tranny specialist when I get back from a trip I'm off to... Will post again after to let you all know what it was.
