235/75/15 is the best tire to fit on that rim and your L300

"Pop a bead" is in reference to the connexion between the tyre and the rim. The part of the tyre that connects to the rim is the bead. If a tyre is too large for a rim then there is a chance that, say on a corner, enough sideways pressure could be exerted on the side-wall of the tyre that the bead might let go, as it is already under duress. That being said, it is my observation that a 235/75R15 is approximately 29.5 inches in diameter and nine and a quarter inches in the track. I have seen thirty inch tyres on tear drop Delica rims, a number of times, they seem secure. I would consider going to a few tyre shops and getting their opinions, preferably Delica friendly ones. How did the tyre blow? Was there a hole involved? Did the tyre rip? Did the tyre come right off the rim?

Thanks for this guys, I will start looking around for new DOT tires!
What happened... not really shure... The mud flap got caught and twisted all the metal behind and there is half of the treads that are nissing on the tire. The tire did not blow, so we were lucky... I cannot imagine how well you could control these vans with a front blown tire at 100km/h... I had to cut the flap in order to put the spare on. So now the Yeti is parked until newer tires are on.
I might put a photo of all the twisted metal so you guys can see what happened.
