I've found that (and maybe it's just the camera I ended up with) if you rely exclusively on the camera, you'll find yourself in the weeds! As a result, I use the camera as reference to see what's behind me, but I still use my mirrors. I think it will also depend on where you mount the camera, I was thinking up where the original mirror had been...
