my wife and I did a nice road trip through most of BC and we got very little attention. I guesss if you look scaryier then the bikers they leave you alone. We excpected a lot of questions but most peolple only looked at it, I guess these vans are not so rare anymore in these parts.

That is a very nice buell. Looking at buying a dl650 v-strom soon, although I'm very tempted by a few buells and the sv650.

I commute to work every day through vancouver and cross several bridges during rush hour. I agree about being more aware and alert than those on 4 wheels.

My current 8 wheels

That is the f'ing coolest, ugliest looking van I have ever seen.
That is the best delica description I have ever heard!!

I think bikers tend to be more auto enthusiasts in general, and auto enthusiasts notice great autos like delicas :)

Both the Delica and the Unimog are a ball to drive. The Delica is way more practical. This is kind of a rare Mog...originally a aircraft tug in the German military...then built with the extended back SUV format by a German company to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Unimog. They called it the Pacemog and drove it around Europe to promote their business..wound up in Chicago...then myself and two other guys drove it back here to Quesnel, British Columbia...what a trip that was!!

Ok - that is the coolest Mog I've ever seen. It's the Mogs that got me hooked on Delicas! I'm in PG / Quesnel all the time - working for Dunkley near Hixon. Can only imagine how the Mog stands out in town! Must be in the Billy Barker Day parade?????
Great photos. Tks - Sean

Oh - and Coax...in reference to the Suzuki SV - great choice. I had the TL1000S prior to the Buell. Have always been a V-Twin fan - and loved that TL motor...still love it. Had an engine oil leak issue with mine that just wouldnt' go away and scared myself one too many times with the post flat spot pull from 6000RPM to 10000RPM that motor cranked out. The power from 2K to 5.5K was amazing, then flat from 5.5 to 6.0 - then hang on to your tightly whitiies......ouch! Amazing and frightening if not prepared. The Buell 1200 is much more "street friendly" by comparison. Understand they detuned the 1000TL motor a bit for the V-Strom and fixed the oil leak from the clutch cover. Anyway - figure the SV must be a blast!
Good luck.

I always like seeing and talking to other Delica/Unimog/S-Cargo/Wrists owners. In Quesnel? Happy to buy you lunch at Granville's Coffee if you put up with my company. Ask the girls there to call me. Yeah these vehicles are fun to drive because of all the stares, and smiles they generate. Park the Mog on Robson St., stand aside and watch the fun. I also belong to the Unimog websites and one thing I have found is that the Delica owners are a much kinder, gentler group of folks.
