Squamish Valley? I have an idea. This is from my pre-Delica life. I know a good spot.

Nice pictures!
Alright, let's make it a Squamish weekend. I'll get in touch with 39Ronin who I'm sure knows very well that area. I've been a few times as well but driving old VW's... not the same game!
The good thing with Squamish is that there's not much travel involved so more time to play around. And depending how the weekend goes there's always the option to start there and carry on further North towards Gold Bridge and the likes.
Too bad for the beef jerky!

We have to stay on the rock, cost of ferry with the vehicle and trailer is just too much, even with the discount. I'm sure we'll get together in the spring tho'! And sometime if we're coming to the mainland we'll have a get together then. Have fun at Squeamish!

Does it really matter Pedro?

We'll be in the wild, might be in the snow, probably in the cold, surely in the wet!
Seriously though, we've found some place where we could camp nearby Britania as well as a bunch of forestry roads, some more challenging than others. There's a few other places that I save as a surprise... should be fun.
But if you know the area and have places in mind then by all means, don't hesitate to suggest! Would you be good to go as of Friday evening?
A plus tard!
David

What about the Cheakamus River system. A variety of roads, plus other activities like snow shoeing. There are camp sites there (with outhouses).... Also a bit more shelter from the mighty Squamish than say..... Porteau Cove... Just a thought. Also; where would we be meeting to assemble the convoy ~ my vote is for Canadian Tire car park, on Main Street, North Vancouver, as there is a Timmy Ho's there as well.

Can all of you guys do a early start Saturday morning, say 8:30am? I know Jay and Felix will want to burry their head under their pillow but it'd be nice to get going early to make the most of this weekend. Friday night was an option but didn't seem to get much interest.
We could go out for a civilized brunch once in Squamish area (Falco will guide us) then hit the dirt.
And can anyone stay until Monday night?
Finally, aside from Sergiy's vodka, should we try to organize some community dinners or each or own? (which never really happens anyway)
I could make a batch of spaghetti sauce or even better, hot and spicy chili to keep us warm at night...

Didnt read the threat, just saw Squamish. Watch out if your going into Paradise Valley. Last year I was in there with some buddies (not camping or drinking just driving) and got a big ticket from a conservation officer. Apparently vehicles arnt allowed in certain spots/ in and out of the river (we were doing both).
Sure I dont have to tell any one on here but if you are goin on back roads, dont leave garbage around... or ratburn cars. Ratburning is what the conservation officer didnt want us doing. For any one who doesnt know what it is, its stealing a car and burning it in the woods and apparently paradise valley is a prime location to do this. I told him that we owned all our vehicles and we were simple doing some sight seeing. So once again just ended up giving us a warning. (I had my dads fire warden hat on but I dont think he believed me)
I'll be workin on my rack that weekend but maybe I will see you guys when I drive back to whistler on sunday

Nooooo, really? People do bad things? You're kidding right?
Thanks Patty but I'd doubt any of us, openly advertising that we're going out camping with our beloved Delica would steal a car and dump it there. It'd be a challenge to drive a stolen car and our Delica at the same time???
Just curious, at first you said you got a big ticket from conservation officer but at the end, once again just ended up giving you a warning...
And on a side note, I usually come back from camping with a full large garbage bag of trash that never belonged to me... so thanks for the advise and you're welcome to join us. Just don't ratburn if you want to play with us.

Sorry wrote that entry before I went to a last final this morning, kinda rushed the post.
When we first ran into the conservation officer he said we were getting a big ticket (didnt say an amount) asked us what we were doing, told him. Then he told us the whole ratburning thing and how it occurs a lot up that way. Then said he was gonna let us off with a warning (still not saying what for) and we best leave. Most likely saw 4 vehicles of young adults and figured we were up to no good.
If you do go up that way, check out the (I think) hydrodam overflow. Its these massive pipes that go up a mountain and back down the other from Daisey Lake.
Have a good one!

TardisDeli can leave either friday night or saturday morning (early morning is fine , I drive while Jay sleeps in the back).
After the crappy week I've had (waddya means it's still only Monday ...) I just wanna leave town and keep going -- hey, let's set up a commune and live in our deli's ... no phones allowed.
If we leave Friday, is anyone able to pick Jay up from the TardisDeli Motel in Burnaby at 4:30? As I will be working in West Van that day.
christine.

I vote for the early Saturday morning departure. Most likely Friday will bring us snow and the driving conditions, especially in the darkness plus setting up a camp does not look like fun. I prefer to leave North/West Van no later than 8 am on Saturday.
Sergiy.

We should really be out of town on Friday. A additional night in our Delis would be great! Specially if our first night is near Furry Creek which is not a long drive at all.
By the way it's 3.15 am and just came back from Jay. Our Dino has now an amazing new playwood floor. I'll write something about it soon.

No wonder Jay nor you can get up in the morning! At least you've got a bed to sleep in your Delica...
