How's the Delica so far in this Calgary weather?

The Delica works great in Calgary. I've got the lower rad hose heater and good batteries so even though it may take a while to get started, started it gets. The 4wd is pretty critical, especially with all the ice. Every once & a while I think perhaps I'll drop it back into 2wd for a bit, but in less than 10 seconds I realise the inherent folly, and get the 4wd going. I drive pretty casual, but with the Delica I can drive the exact same way all year. In the summer everyone beats me off the line, but in winter, driving the same way, I'm waving behind me as everyone spins out trying to get moving. (it's an interesting phenomenon that every year it gets cold and snows here and everyone drives like they've never seen a snowflake before. Those accident stats that erebus mentioned: the roads could be completely clear and some idiot is always going to drive his F350 into the Honda Civic. True, the snow certainly doesn't help, but there's no plow/gravel truck in the world that can remove the stupid from the drivers in this town.)

But some plowing would be nice. It's all fine and good relying on the occaisional chinook to take care of the snow but it's been freaking cold a long time now and no chinooks in sight.

Just a public thank you to Erebus for kindly showing my wife & I his Delica today. After two years of prodding, the little show & tell we had today might have done the trick!

Hi all,
I guess that other "crazy" Delica driver might have been me...
Have a '93 S.E. Made the run from Victoria to Selkirk Manitoba.
It has been a bit cool - the "winter" diesel fuel I got on the island froze near Merritt, BC. at -30. Merritt fuel was REAL winter diesel, fortunately. The van actually started after a whole night, below -30 with no block heater! The new 31" BFG AT KO tires seem to be coping well (I grew up with winter driving, which helps too). 4WD on these icy roads seems like driving on dry pavement - very impressed.
Heading back to coast around Jan 5.
