So great! Not only can you follow the bouncing needle to sing along with but now we have musical accompaniment by playing the mirror as well. Who needs a radio when you have all that?

The thing is, the sound just started last week, so unless something has changed on the mirror... the next thing I will check though, someone advised me there is a piece of rubber on top of the headlights (hidden away I think) that caused his to make a similar sound.

So, after a trip to CVI and a very thourough inspection of the drivetrain and all 4 wheels (which was good to have done anyhow), turns out the problem was what lrp374 suggested it might be:
Along the top of the DEPO headlight pod is a strip of foam rubber, almost like a gasket, glued in place. Enough of the glue had worn out that the gasket was flapping at 60kph+ and producing a loud constant noise. It WAS wind noise after all! Anyhow, problem fixed, and taking the van to CVI turned up a separate suspension problem anyhow.
