Nope, not talking about the side steps. It's the bars that run off the bottom of the front bush bar and back towards the front tire. If you look at the photos of Leafster's sweet ride you'll see his are gone. I've only noticed these missing on some lifted units so I was wondering if removing them had something to do with the lift mod, ground clearance or just esthetics.

Green1 and Nisseman, you are on the same page. The steps are useless for getting in, but they do provide some protection for the radiators above them. The air conditioning one may not be that important, but if you have an automatic transmission the bigger tranny cooler is probably not one you want to wreck. If you plan on doing anything more that logging roads off the highway I would keep the steps or build better protection. Bending the steps up does not take alot of force - experienced with that. So it is a personal choice as to whether you want to keep them or not.

those are the side steps, for getting in and out of the front doors of the Delica, though I'm tall enough not to use them myself, my girlfriend and my roomate both use them to climb in to the vehicle. they also offer some additional protection to the 2 radiators under there, though how much protection is up for debate.

We had to remove the steps to fit the tires. It's a compromise, you get 31" tires, lose the steps. Keep the steps, go to 30" tires. I don't like losing the bit of protection for the radiators but it's my girlfriends van and although we have done some off-roading, we have yet to smash anything nor do I think we will.

That being said, if you hit something low and hard enough to do some damage, I doubt those things will help a lot anyway...

I'm looking at Deli that doesn't have them, just going by the auction photo. Anyone tried to find these bars/steps to replace? I think I'd rather have them on there.

I have the set off of my van. Won't be needing them. No idea what they are worth though. I'll look into it.

That would be good info to have Adrock. No panic though, we haven't actually purchased this unit yet but we have a deposit on it. Should be on the Island in about ten days. I'm finding our search for a Deli a bit stressful. We live about 1 1/2 hours from Coombs/Parksville which appears to be the center of the Deli universe on the Island, so we don't just run down to take a look every time something new arrives, and when we've hesitated even for a day or two, boom it's gone!. Never shopped for a vehicle this way before, can't wait till it's over and done with.

Nisseman, I managed to get an awesome unit and I live in McNeill. All I can say is that patinence in a virtue, so is persistence and knowing the right dealer. So shop around and be patient for your perfect Delica.

That is a fine looking unit Fishtank. Who did you buy from if you don't mind my asking.
