Pay camping is available at the provincial park near the caves and free is further down the same foresty road that comes out at the inland highway at Cook Creek. I was not able to make it all the way through the last time I was up there, lots of snow! If we get more this weekend I will check it out and see what spots are viable and for how many vans. There is no hassle to camp, its all provincial or tiimber leases and so far nobody cares about camping as long as common sense prevails. ( no tree felling, log theft, fires out of season, poaching etc, all those things frowned upon etc.)

Sooo, have we agreed on Sat. the 21st. noon-ish at Rathtrevor Beach in Parksville for the day meet? Who all is interested in attending? Only a little more than a week off...

...it was probably going to be way to cold for camping for the kids anyway (they're not nearly as rugged as we were). And, I've got a bunch of stuff to prepare at work, so I probably wouldn't have made it up there.

A day meet, I could probably do. Delica304, you going up? Wanna convoy? Can two vehicles be called a convoy, or do we need a third?

I'm going to try and come up since I've gotta grab a fuel filter from Glen.

I've just reserved a spot on Coastal Renaissance, leaving Horseshoe Bay at 0830.

How are people fixed for radio stuff nowadays? FRS/GMRS? 2 meters? I have both.

Um... Rathtrevor Beach is on the map... just outside Parksville.

All kidding aside, it will be good to finally meet you, Laura. Sounds like things are shaping up to be a good meet.

Paul, I'll be coming down on friday to stay the weekend... But, I'll be at rathy bright n' early saturday!

kb&2dogs are in! Do you want us to bring our campstove for cookin up some yummy lunch, and how about our campshelter (NO not the big tent!) in case the weather sucks?

Instead of a tent, we could just stretch a big tarp between four vans!

Just to let all Mitsubishi drivers on this forum know: this gathering is open to Pajeros and Stradas also. It would be cool to see some of the 'cousins' at this meet.
