Lubro Moly Diesel Purge is the stuff I used to use on the benz (I couldn't remember the name of it, but seeing the picture of the can and I definitely recognize it)

Worked wonders, but I can never find that sort of thing in the stores, they only ever seem to have the fuel additive stuff, which is not the same beast at all.

I can tell you that there was always a noticeable difference after using it on the mercedes.

You don't have to go out to Maple Ridge to pick it up. Just go to a Napa. They carry it.

my napa doesnt carry it,
Napa in Langley quoted me $13.25/bottle. I do not need to go to Maple Ridge; the friend of mine living there will take care of this. The seller is slow negotiating the deal but hopefully next week it will be done. I am buying all 6 cans so I can share 4 of them.

Guys, you need 2x500 ml cans/bottles per purge. It looks like I will have the product tomorrow evening.

Yes, sir!
The explanation I found on delicaclub.ru was quite simple.
Disconnect both (input and reverse) pipes from a fuel pump, connect short pipes (50-60 cm) instead and put them into a bottle with cleaner (he used Wynn's). Start the warm engine, idle for 10 min. Shut the engine, floor the pedal and start the engine. Run the engine at 1200-1500 rpm increasing and dropping rpms sharply until it burns the first 0.5 l of cleaner. Shut the engine and wait for 10 minutes. Start the engine and burn the second 0.5 l of cleaner at 2000 rpm pushing the accelerator once in a while. Put some diesel in a bottle and run the engine again to burn cleaner left in the system. Restore fuel connections.
The further discussion lead to the recommendation changing oil after the purge.
I understand that this is not the only scenario for doing it; someone with experience may contribute to this thread.
There is a high number of related videos available online, for example:

not really... they recommend 2 if the vehicle is in really rough shape, but for routine stuff 1 should do it.

You asked for it and here it is. The drill was explained earlier and below are some illustrations. Good luck!
