If someone would like to take a closer look at it mounted, I live in kits and work in Langley.
I'd be happy to stop by along the way or have a few visitors talk 'delica'
Jesse
Onto the bumper :
Different pictures. A few close up's.
Visibility from the inside looking back/out (rear view mirror) is excellent. You can barely see the top of the spare tire.
3rd brake light is 80% visible so there is no need to relocate it.
Rear lights/brake/signal/driving lights are all unobstructed rear/sideways.
It's very light for a full-sized double carrier bumper with a hitch.
I don't notice it on the back with all the gear while driving until someone pulls up and points to the back and says "where did you get that ? do they make them for other vehicles ?"
It looks great and it's very functional. I care less about the former and more about the latter so it fits my bill quite nicely.
I'm going to mount my veg/long range tank underneath where the spare tire originally was residing and will make use out of the solid frame/bumper frab'd brackets to bolt to.
All in all, I'm more than happy and very pleased with the end result.
Honestly, it surpassed my expectations for looks and design when I was thinking about it a few months ago.
Many thumbs up.

jfarsang, are there two shackle points on either side of your tow hitch? It's hard to tell from the pictures you posted. I recall the original design had them, just checking.

I have 2 questions:
1. Is the spare blocking the lights?
2. Where are these shiny locks originally from?
Thanks,
Sergiy.

Hi Sergiy,
1. It's an optical illusion from the depth of field on the camera lens. There is almost 2 inches of horizontal clearance between the inner edge of the tail lights and the edge of my tire (32 inches diameter). So there is no blocking of the rear lights on either side.
2. I'm assuming you're referring to the latch-style clamps. I spent two weeks going from marine to auto to machinery suppliers here in BC to source them to no avail. I ended up sourcing them from McMaster Carr in the USA. They are double-locking, vibration resistant latches. Quite pricey per unit unfortunately and McMaster does not ship to Canada anymore so I had to go through a US contact/customs,etc...
Hope that helps.
Jesse

jfarsang, to clarify your second response, you're talking about the "red handle latches"? Was that a personal touch to your bumper or will Parkside be designing all of them like that?

Both red latches are part of the bumper.
The 'personal touch' on mine was the add-on hitch, hi-lift jack mount and the scepter furl can basket/locking bracket.

Thanks... not to ruin your day but your unique mod will soon be duplicated >.<. I gave Parkside a deposit a few weeks ago. Can't wait! I will have the locking fuel cans and hitch on mine as well. At least you can still say "world first" for the bumper mod ;)
In regards to the hi-lift jack mount. In retrospect this would have been a good option and I may call them to see if it can still be added. I bought a Surco roof rack with the hi-lift mount attachment. I did all of this forgetting how heavy my jack is! I would rather not mount it up there...but now I need to see if I can return the attachment or not.

Hey Jesses, this bumper is awesome and I want one! But I'm curious about a few things:
- Will you make one *without* the gas can swingout? I have a stowaway swing-out cargo box on that side which would interfere, but I really want the spare tire carrier
- Do you know if a Terzo ladder will still fit? It's hard to tell.
- Can I install this thing myself, does it bolt into factory locations? Or does it need to be welded in place?
Thanks! David

Any concern that there is no lamp above the license plate? Could be a sticky point at a roadside inspection...
