Daylight doesn't matter anyway with regards to the light output of HID's. Actually kelvin temp. isn't the only factor regarding how the sun looks. There is also rayleigh scattering which contributes as well. When you account for rayleigh scattering you'll find that standard halogen bulbs are fairly close to sunlight. Not quite sure what this has to do with HID lighting? I was merely trying to show how certain colour temps at 12.8 vdc can provide different amounts or volume , if you will, of light.
I would imagine someone wanting HID lighting is wanting MORE light and using the wrong colour temp could potentially create equal or lesser amounts than they already have.

I dont need or want HID so either way I don't care.

I put in H4 HIDs (6000K) in my German L400 headlites. No cutting, no problem.

Post installation, headlite aiming is essential

No need to pay over $100. I got mine from Ebay for $70 USD from Toronto
