I was under the impression that if you crank the torsion bars you don't need to do an alignment but if you re-index them you do need to, but I could be totally wrong

And make sure your bushings are in good shape And link gromets, alot of vans have almost nothing left or are severly worn out , so everything up front is sagging, more proof that delicas are just a little bit human

Cranking the torsion bars and reindexing them achieve the same result.

The torsion bars twist and put more tension on the upper control arm which in turn pushes it downwards lifting the front end.

A wheel alignment is necessary when doing either or.

Even if you only turn the adjuster nut a few turns in either direction. It will put off your wheel alignment.

i got a wheel alignment done on the coast a few months ago.
question is, will i have to get another alignment done when i buy new tires next month, or will balancing be enough?

Balancing is for wheels and tires, alignment is for suspension. So if all you do is replace tires, all you need is for them to be balanced. The alignment shouldn't change.
