i don't know how you folks can do it. i just drove to manitoba and back to bc, the wind seemed to blow from the north at 100km/h the whole time i was on the prairies. i've got a high roof van and it catches A LOT of wind, i can hardly believe i made it through that wind without getting blown off the road or into oncoming traffic. i sure hope that wind was anomalous. can't imagine driving in those conditions everyday.

But even if it breaks down, it is the ideal vehicle. When they replaced the timing belt, did they also replace the tensioner and the water pump? If they only replaced the belt, I would get the entire job done properly before you have a breakdown. There is a kit available with all the relevant parts. Strongly recommended to replace the water pump and thermostat at the same time, since then it is only a tiny bit of time and cost of parts.
Mine has been very reliable. 50,000 km in 2 1/2 years with no issues that left me stranded.

Tensioners and water pump were changed as well, Rad flush and fluids done on landing.
On a side note my wife and I saw newmorous vehicles in the ditch this past Wednesday as we had some snow the night before..... doesn't take people long to forget that snow is slippery....
And as for wind you noticed we did not have many trees across the prairies eh?? the wind don't let them stay in the ground once they get past 6' tall here!

Unfortunately the Delica has already passed 6' tall... so in some of those winds you can definitely have a fight to keep it "planted"...Tinytoy wrote:the wind don't let them stay in the ground once they get past 6' tall here!
