No one in these parts have any real interest in working on our vans, but they love taking huge sums of cash. You can roll the dice and find somewhere in c-town but your best move is to go where they actually know what they are doing. I am trying to learn things on my own and with the help of this community, mostly as a cost saving measure.

Well that's not entirely true Craig.....some just have an aversion to doing volume work! I never found my Deli hard to work on....Diesel pumps are a PITA but that goes with many brands. The electrical goblins can be tricky sometimes as Craig and I discovered this year.
Good point about Derrick Dodge......a Cummins is no comparison for a Mitsu Burner.....The Finning techs would know more about the 2.5 and 2.8 since Caterpillar uses these engines in their smaller equipment.

I hear ya as well.
I don't really trust most in Saskatoon either.
Depends on the job I guess.
But for the most part I try to do what I can first.

So they are probably the best shop here in Ab to take our diesels to without going out to the coast
I was singularly UNimpressed with Pro-Active. They didn't do what I asked, charged more than they quoted, and the work they did was not of high quality.
Your service may be good, mine was not.
Kirkham Automotive, on the other hand, has dealt with both vehicles I've owned since moving to Calgary in 1996, and have always treated me very well. And lots of other Delicas now go there, and I haven't heard of problems.

Contacted all listings in the entire 'diesel' & 'foreign' section of Yellow Pages, with zero luck. Thus I give-up on Edmonton.
Took my l400 to Kelsey in Lumby BC (outside Vernon) for some proper servicing from a true diesel mechanic (ie: works on ANY make & model). Knowledgeable, conscientious and knows how to listen and prioritize work.
The cost of fuel is NOTHING when compared to the frustration of paying for work (in Edmonton) and literally none is done properly. Also a good excuse to flee this blue-collar haven for a while.

I'm opening a service centre here in Edmonton in the very near future where parts and service will be available to all Japanese imported vehicles, along with OOP inspections, etc. Just so sick and tired of the lack of service in Edmonton and Alberta in general for anything outside the typical everyday trucks that are flying around here.
My mechanic is from Jamaica and had experience with these for over 20 years, so Delica's are no strange thing to him. I hope we can help some of the local members out in the future.

This is the best news I have heard in a long time! Keep us posted as to when you start up and we will show up for the grand opening... hopefully just to visit, although you never know with my Delica.

William.....you been holding out on us? Sly dog you! Does Mr.Bishi aka Phil H of Airdrie know this?
I think the Calgary group could muster a gaggle of Delica's to your grand opening, should you have one that is.

The sumarus link gave me nothing but a blank screen.
I'm now very interested in a shop in Edmonton, because I'm moving there in the next couple of months.
