the hose thats come up out of the front tank, dips down, and then up again is the siphon hose. the dip ensures that it stays full to keep the siphon

there are no pumps in Delica tanks

I'm going to replace the siphon arrangement with a lift pump...only problem is that I don't really want to use a high pressure efi pump but that is all I can find that fits perfectly in the cavity ontop....

i use a $70 7-9PSI pump off the shelf at Napa

Haven't proceeded with this project yet due other priorities, but I'm for sure interested how you manage to connect both tanks. Please take a lot of photos and report back.

Someone else has done this as documented on this site but the way the extra tank was set up, it required a 2nd filling point, located behind the rear signal lights.

I am waiting for someone to find a solution, without have to create a 2nd filling point.

Hey ike849, how did your system turn out. Is everything working? Would you do something different? Any Photos?

I was wondering if this whole set-up can be simplified. Why not T-off from every hose of the original tank. So basically filler, breather and return from a fuel cell are just connected to the filler, breather and return hose from the stock tank. No additional pump. Would it work that way?

I was wondering if it is certain that a second rear L300 (Auto) diesel tank wouldn't fit. I was hoping to have one installed for WVO as I prefer not to have a tank inside the vehicle and I don't want to relocate the tire. Also I didn't want to use a smaller front tank as that would mean I have to refill more often.

I can not see any space to fit another rear l300 Auto Diesel tank down there without relocating the spare tire. If you go with a custom designed tank where the muffler is, you might get 40l worth of WVO.

Well, it took way longer than expected, but this project is finally done. In the end I went with a custom tank where the spare tire used to be as the small stock tank I picked up didn't work very well. The fuel delivery system is now even simpler and no siphon effect needed.

i am planning something very similar. however i learned when i was in Montana recently that a heated fuel pickup is necessary to allow travel almost anywhere any season. my intention is to use a heated fuel pickup in the rear aluminum tank, and that will be my main tank. but with heat, veggie oil will oxidize especially in contact with steel of the stock tank. so the idea is to not have the tanks connect or share fuel, but fill and pickup for each tank are separate. however that will require yet another filler drilled and mounted into the side of the vehicle!

maybe i missed it, but how are your veggie tanks vented?

Yeah no veggie for us. This is a Diesel only tank as it is way to complicated for our taste to do the WVO thing on a long road trip. I'm not sold on the idea to trust strangers with their filtering process. If this van would stay in Vancouver I would not hesitated to do the conversion though.

There is one vent line going to the second filler. The vent line on the stock tank stays as it is.

well, i know a welder locally and we do some work trades.. plans would be nice. i got some for a tank not unlike andrews, but i thought i might combine those somehow with yours
