Very true, I definitely don't have a need or a want to know everyone's full details. An average age and vehicle type will quench my thirst. Anything more than that is just icing on the cake.jaggedfish wrote:Okay... cool! Just thought I'd ask because of security issues in this day and age. So easy to get one's full name and birthdate then before you know it...It's mainly just for curiosity sake. I believe Adrock had one when he was 20 but I don't know of too many younger people who own them (I'm guessing because of the expense) I also find it very useful to reach out and make new friends and contacts.Call me paranoid.
What I do find on this site is that there is a very high number of very friendly people and that combined with the common interest of Delicas in whatever capacity draws people of all ages together. I helped organize an off-road outing for club members here in Calgary and a lot of us had never met before that day. We had a blast and everyone wanted to do it again - and we will. I do agree tho... haven't met too many younger owners... a few, but not many. It's interesting because the cost is about the same as buying a Yota mudder... maybe that's the difference... agressive mudding versus slow-and-steady expedition-type off-roading - just guessing...In the end it doesn't matter... if you own a Delica, you fit in whether you are 20 or 80
Wow, you've seen a lot. What was John A. Macdonald like in real life?ealanm wrote:I just bought a 1995 L400 which is not yet "feet dry," but I guess I can participate in the survey.
To keep it interesting, I'll just provide clues. The day I was born...
* Diefenbaker was Prime Minister with a new, majority government
* The Avro Arrow was undergoing flight tests
* Chuck Berry was at the top of the charts, with Eddie Cochran hot on his heels
* Two months plus a day earlier, Jack Teagarden had recorded "Muskrat Ramble" at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver
I, of course, was blissfully unaware of all of that.
Thank you Daniel ;)DelicaDJ wrote:Zoltan, that is a beautiful machine you have there! Also, your background pictures are wonderful!
