Is that the same one as this one? I cannot find any still photos of this one
The photos are from a German 4x4 forum. I'll ask the owner if he has any photos of the cut-out roof.
No, the yellow Delica is from someone else.

There was a company in Germany, which made hightops for l300s. As the they closed their doors, ebay was full of these fibreglass tops. For less than $100..... but that was a few years ago 8-)

Hitop all the way unless BC Ferries figures predominantly in your life. Many years of westies and we never did like the short season the pop top afforded.

But. My beloved old Catalina sailboat had a pop top that would, IMO, be ideal on a P25 with a moon roof. The pop top on the old sailboat had two easily zipped on covers, a noseeum netting cover for airflow, and a oiled canvas one that was rain proof. Each cover could remain in place when in the lowered position. The pop top only left enough room for changing clothes and food prep, but really that was all that was need to make a tiny boat livable. The pop top was a very simple fiberglass cap with a simple four pole raising system, and of course interior clamps to pull it snug again the roof deck. The one Delica mode I really wanted to do. :-(

Just like it would be on a P25 Delica moon roof, there wasn't room for two people to stand; but it was always the preferred spot to enjoy the view with a cup of joe.

Can't wait to see your build, as your slid out rocks!

Cheers,
Kev

It has almost been 1 year since BC ferries charged overheight.... I hope they keep it this way. All under 20 feet pay the same!

Thanks about the slide....It seems to be working good for us.

That's just criminal darn. A life time of using BC Ferries, growing up and during plus 28 years of paying ferry rates myself: plus endless times; taking motorhomes (do you have payment plans ma'am?), trailers, and boats over, removing roof stored gear to save a fortune or the cost of a tank of gas (not to mention the countless times of dirtying gear by bringing in roof toppers and mountain bikes), and lets not forget the countless agreements over changing height limits at different terminals for a Delica. Ie your not over height in Horseshoe bay, but coming home that same Delica is overheight and cost $22 for the same route/vehicle.

Sheesh, of course they would do this after I move away from Canada for awhile.

Sawzall to the roof time? Not that a camper is going to be used a rock crawler, but even at the agreed 7ft found the tow straps I carried only ever used for low clearance tree removal. With of course axe assist at times.

Key is they look Top Heavy....But centre of gravity is about were the actual weight is. The top is mostly air. I figure max weight will be around 150-200lbs minus the steel roof I take off. Not a huge gain. It will be 1.5 feet taller bringing my low roof to about just over 8 feet on 31" tire with about 2" of lift.

I tend to ride my bike or hike on trails more then try to drive down them (unless it is for work). :)

I am getting excited to start cutting...just trying to figure out where I am doing this....silly 7 foot garage doors!
