We drove all the way out to UGA to see my brother graduate college. On the way home, stopped at a Chick Fil'a (fast food) I was approached by a guy who wanted to take a photo of the Delica...not unusual but this guy worked for Mitsubishi N.A and his boss was the Executive VP of Mitsu N.A. So I let him take the photos

Slow Speed Reverse Chicken!
So I'm parking on Fraser Street near King Edward. I find a spot on the right, I signal and move over. I put it in reverse and start backing in and behind me there's, "HONK! HONK! HONK! HONK!" I stop and behind me this woman in an SUV has driven frontwards half way into the parking space I'm backing into! I take a moment to assess the situation:
1) I've got a mirror that enables me to get within 2 inches of an obstacle.
2) She's driving a brand new SUV
3) I'm driving a 25 year old jalopy covered in dirt.
Hm...I think I know who's going to chicken out!
So I keep backing up slowly, and sure enough she gets out of my way. She pulls up beside me and gives me a look like she's used to getting her way. Not this time! You wanna steal someone's parking spot, pick a fight you can win!
I was laughing about it later and realized:
4) a little love-tap would deploy her air bags!
I'm glad it didn't come to that. Though the look on her face would have been priceless!
Three cheers for the triumph of old technology!

Delica makes a great boat launch vehicle, especially on a gravel beach like Pender Island.
Low gearing and 4x4 makes a decent log skidder too!

Transported two 10’ step ladders, two 5’ step ladders, a job site worth of tools and tool boxes, and STILL had room to spare (even with all the seats left in!)

I know, eh? I was working on a small job site and two other of the trades used to have L300 Delicas in their countries of origin, Serbia & Taiwan and were praising my wagon to the heavens. Awesome trade-mobiles. You can load a stack of 4'x8' plywood in these wagons. One minor issue though- I've lowered the rear end of the gearbox by 40mm to reduce the driveshaft UJ operating angles to something more sane, but now all the gearbox oil sits at the back where 5th gear flings it out the breather when it gets hot. Looks like I need more UJ angle, less gearbox angle.
That's a job for next year.
Nothing says "poor workmanship" more than wrinkles in the duct tape.

I had a load of top soil delivered today. The dump truck got stuck in the lawn. Real stuck. So, I pulled it out with my L300. Simple as that.
