*bows* i love it when 'vision' becomes reality.
nice job mang. i like it.

Any chance you could kick in on some of the extra expense your idea cost me?

You know, now that I look at your vehicle, and what you've done with it, I got nothing.. no more ideas... nothing new... I pretty much like it the way it is.

If you look close they used the 2/5 ton military axles. These are needed as that is the smallest axles (that I know of) that allow a throughput for the second (most rear) axel.

Looks like Sterling or Dana60 rear most axle...I have not found a shot of the power division to the back.

I've seen their Yopu tube videos, cool truck for sure. There is a company in England that converts land rovers into 6x6's. The have coem up with their own dsign that bolts on to the front rear axle and with a PTO off of the drive shaft brings the power to the reatr axle. I called them butt he wanted 6000 Euros for it. NOT!

Like this setup....you could use a standard divorced transfer case (need to look at oil up to top output though). Simple'ish

How is it going with your engine swap?

Well, after making the mistake of asking for "opinions" I have come to the following conclusion. the Cantor engine was too expensive, as were serveral other newer engines that were also in the running. So here's what going to happen. I iwll fix the one I have and get it running. I will then take the block from my 1/2 deli and bore it. blueprint it and add a whole bunch of goodies to it to increase the power. As a wise deli owner said, fixing up a deli motor will allow you to just bolt it in when it's done. work starts next week!! i'll keep you all posted.

WIKI indicates up to 138 HP with direct injection. I'd like to see someone try this.

Good luck with your transmission. If I remember correctly, GeryO had to rebuild his auto tranny a view times after he pimped the engine on his l300 with an intercooler and such...

I have spoken to Gary about this. His suggestion was a new tranny. So that too is on my list. Most likely a toyota.

Definitely intercool the beast with a good water to air intercooler if you haven't considered it - that'll open up the opportunity for a bit more boost and a few more ponies, plus with WTA you don't have to run 2" air piping to the front of the vehicle... just 1/4" flexible water piping :)
That combined with a snorkle and bored out goodness (have you considered sleeving it?) should provide for a longer lasting, reasonably "stock" engine.
Great build thread, looking forward to more updates and hopefully getting to see it before I leave for Australia!
