I haven't had marmite before so I can't help.
Vegemite is very salty with a yeasty type of smell.
Very high in vitamin B
Remember toast with butter and a very light smear of vegemite.
mmmm

Oh yes, and served with a cuppa tea. Sounds by your description, Fmande, that it is basically the same product ~ salty, yeasty on bread toasted on one side, mm mm mm!

Falco.

Vegemite and Marmite very similar, Marmite leaves a taste in your mouth for a while and vegemite seems more smooth, but basically the same thing, other than Marmite(NZ) and Vegemite(OZ), yes i know of other brands of marmite but ours is best.

I love the stuff! I saw heaps of different brands of it in various shops in Adelaide - "Vegemite" is a brand name bought by Kraft about ten years ago :o and easily found here - lovely on a cracker with a little butter. Oooo, and with a beer!

Post-apocolyptic.

Only thing is that it seems to get saltier the longer you keep it... can be a positive and a negative!

If you know anyone in Vancouver then there's various stores here that stock it, only problem is that a small tube costs about the same amount as the jar above. Only saving may be on shipping.

Wrench to throw in the works is Promite. I hate it. It's theoretically similar to Vegemite and Marmite, but its as if the devil took both of them, mixed them with two parts suck, ate it through his butt, then excreted it through the pores under his dirty fingernails and back into the jars. My brother loves it.

Vegemite on the other hand is lovely when spread correctly. It's my daily staple for lunch on bagels :)

For now, I have to make do with cream cheese on my bagels! I love it that way, but veg might be something I'd like to try on a bagel :-)

Urp... too vivid.

Almost made me choke on my fresh mountain coffee that was hand picked by the silken young fingers of pretty maidens and carefully sorted, and dried just this week, under the watchful calm eyes with endless generations of coffee bean sorting experience.

OOH, Coffee! Good stuff for a cold winters' day, though I drink it all year round, too!

It's was nippy today, needed a jacket for the ride into work this morning. It was 24c with 65% humidity, starting to feel like tropical winter here. :-D

You can get some truly fantastic coffee in SE Asia, which is ironic as most coffee is bought and sold as instant coffee and the preferred way to drink it is cold.

Was introduced to Peabody coffee earlier this, again fresh from the farm; it truly is the best I've ever had. Even direct from the farm it's $10 for a half kilo but soooo worth the drive and baht.

Vegemite to me is about as tasty as dog ****. Though I love Durian and Jack fruit. Frozen, ripe jack fruit is a treat that everybody should try once; it's like a rich, creamy sweet ice cream treat.
