I guess I'll try and call around to bearing shops in Vancouver. Apparently there is one in PoCo Raeside Bearings and Seals that should have it.
If you have a good news for sourcing 224570, let us know ( not sure the quality though) for sharing info.
That was beyond my reach so far.
Lordco/World pac have sent so many interchangeables , but all were wrong.
I am pretty sure you can source it here in NA by jfarsang's help.

Did my pinion seal about a month ago, probably paid a premium out of Australia (delicashop.com), but was correct part and fast shipping ($27 ish), got some other stuff and shipping was around $60(<5 days). Got no responses when I queried for part numbers. :-(

Note: Replacing the seal is extremely simple and straight forward, I would not put it much beyond doing an oil change (about 2-3 times longer though).

Only thing that I needed to buy, above and beyond the seal, was some fresh diff fluid and a 30mm socket for the nut (my sets only had up to 27mm I believe). Found an ABS coupler that was right size for beating in new seal but wound up using a clean piece of 2x4 to tap it in flush; just be careful to tap in square (soft metal).

4 screws off the rear drive shaft, slide it out; CAREFULLY, almost caught my teeth, kind of heavy when your arms are bent over your head. Do not actually slide it all the way out, just enough to tie it out the way............ Spin off your nut, rip out the seal (careful not to score carrier when removing) and then reverse. The book talks about a lot of torques and freewheeling and preload and such............ extremely critical if you are taking the diff apart (not to worry if you are just replacing seal, IMO); I agree with Jesse (previous post), if you have not taking apart a diff before, DON'T without someone who has. Replacing just the seal is fine for anyone IMO. :-D

Cheers

well life just got f%@ked. our rear drive shaft was in my husbands white Toyota LE van (his work van), and it was stolen from the front of our house at around 10am on saturday morning. keep your eyes open for the van... were hoping it's been dumped somewhere by now. so now we need a rear drive shaft. *d

The drive shaft should be easy enough to procure. Amazing Autos and Rising Sun have been parting out L300s. In The meantime I hope your husband's Toyota LE work van turns up soon and not too damaged.

I haven't seen National 224570, so don't know if it is the same as MB160949 we were talking about.
I asked Mitsubishi Japan for MB160949, but they said it is not available any more and currently MR580530 is the right part.

You're confusing Dalyn with the different part numbers for the wrong part she is asking for.

She needs the OUTPUT SHAFT SEAL ON THE TRANSFER CASE.

Part is available locally.

Dalyn,

Take the driveshaft back to where you bought it. They sold you the wrong one !

You need to get the rear driveshaft that has a 4-bolt flange on one end (to the rear differential) and a splined yoke on the other end (slides in the back of the transfer case).

Whoever sold it to you, they gave you one for an automatic transmission.

Be sure when you take it back to make certain you get the correct one for a manual 5-speed transmission, otherwise you'll have to make the trek back and forth again.

Hope it helps. See the pics below.

1st pic is your 5spd configuration

2nd pic is the correct driveshaft you need

3rd pic is the wrong driveshaft (that's why it won't fit on yours)
