misrepresentation of the facts and what i already learned from Yas would dictate abandoning this unit
I don't understand the statement about "what I already learned from Yas", what do you mean?
I'll get the turbo separately, the van's already in Canada, so I can get it installed by someone known/trustworthy... any ideas for an Edmontonian that would do a good job? Ballpark number for what it might cost to install at a shop?

I am tempted to say no to the whole thing, it is a matter of whether I believe or not that it was an accident that it was advertised clearly as "5speed turbo diesel" when it wasn't. If it was an accident, so be it, he's willing to make amends. If it wasn't an accident, then that's a pretty big lie, there's no telling what else isn't above board.

Acceleration will be very slow. Even the turbo-charged Delica seems slow compared to all the other vehicles on the road today, and without the power at high RPMs that the turbo provides, a non-turbo would be borderline unsafe when trying to merge onto certain freeway entrances, although there are still probably worse vehicles on the road.

Just posting an update as to the missing turbo issue...

I would like to point out that the seller IS working to do what he can to make up for the mistake, and I AM satisfied with his honesty and willingness to fix the problem, so I don't want his reputation to be tanked if it was an honest error. I'll update again later when the deal is closed and everything is followed through (and I believe it will all be resolved OK) meanwhile if anyone has any concerns about dealing with this seller they're welcome to pm or email me and I'll discuss it with them directly.
