Ok, so you're saying if I just snip the wires to the connector and reverse them they should work? They're just amber side markers so I don't really need to spend lots of money on Cree.

Well the right answer is to measure what you have at the light socket and prove which is +- and go from there, but given the nature of the fitment its entirely plausible that its wired backwards, so chopping it should work. Its weird though, and there must be a reason.

It is weird. It's the same on both sides. My regular bulbs work just fine, but I can't get any LED lights to work in this spot (side markers). It's dark now, so I will try again tomorrow.

The only plausible explanation is the polarity is wrong, as above. It might be worthwhile taking a close look at the connector, soketimes you can push down a clip on the metal insert and remove it from the plug, assuming both are the same and swap them over which is a neater solution. But I have no intimate knowledge of these so it may not be possible.

LeeHammy and yojimbo were absolutely right. The polarity was backwards.
It was an easy fix though. I hooked the bulbs up and found out that the bottom connection was + and the side was -

Here's what I did just in case anyone else runs into the same problem.

Take out the side marker and disconnect the grey bulb holder.
Then take a small flat head screwdriver and insert it just below where the electrical connections go into the black connector...there's a little plastic release. Pop both connectors out and switch them around. Put the bulb in the grey holder, connect it back to the black connector and you're done.

The 9 v battery was to test the bulb polarity preference inside in the warm with a beer in hand and after that it kind of goes without saying which is positive and negative on the van. However your answer is also right if you have a meter and want to go stand in the cold.

Mitsubishi must wire it like that for some reason, the Pajero's are the same. Reverse on that light only. Who knows..

OK, I did sucessfully wired my Front side turn signal wired as side marker a few weeks ago and works Ok with the standard incandescent bulbs. Now, I did replaced the bulbs with led. It is now flashing so fast it is like always on (do not even appear like flashing as it is too fast.). It is the same on both side. Any suggestions, solutions ? Much Thanks.

You either need to put a large resistor into the circiut or replace your flasher relay with an electronic one.

Thanks Will: I finally leaved one LED (corner) and bought an Halogen replacement for the front bulb. The results is that it flash fast but OK for me and was OK as for the raod inspection. Will leave it this way for now.

go to princess auto and buy philips 30mm led bulbs, they will replace the interiors and they are about $5 a piece and BRIGHT!!! was really worth the money the first time I went camping and noticed the brightness at night. brake lights are 1157, clearance and signals are 1156 i bleieve
