Old Paint. When she hit 400,000km I had her scrapped. Couldn't bear the thought of anyone else driving her, though that sure wasn't likely considering the paint job. But then, kids loved her. Anyways, I walked home 70 blocks in the rain after I put her down. Seemed the right thing to do... and then three weeks later Delilah rolled into my life. ::: shudder ::: Bad scene, man. The women you gravitate to after being with a good one, eh? Yeah.
Great story! My mind immediately started singing that old Sons of the Pioneers tune, The Last Roundup (kinda fits your story too) - "I'm headed for the last roundup, gonna saddle Old Paint for the last time and ride (in your case, "drive"), get along little doggy get along..."

Actually it went down to Vancouver, can't remember the guys name. It was flat black when I sold it, Tremclad!!
looked real good too, solid body. People keep telling me about this other one.
Now that I'm into these Japanese imports I kinda wish I'd kept it. It would have been perfect for dropping a straight 6 Skyline engine into, would turn a few heads.

Funny...I can't find anything of my automotive history here. Here goes:
1966 Vauxhall Viva HA (drove it in high school)
1971 VW Super Beetle (flat windshield version, lost to an engine fire)
1972 VW Type 3 Fastback (cool car, disasterous rust)
1986 VW Jetta (320,000 km and still going strong)
1992 Mitsubishi Delica
I gave the Jetta to my sister, and it will be a learn-to-drivemobile for my two teenage nieces.

Call me crazy all you want, but 2 years ago I has a brand new off the lot 2017 Offroad Tacoma. During that year I did a LOT of road trips, I think I put somewhere around 70,000km on it. The plan was to drive it till it died... But then I found I wanted a van more, and something I could work on myself. After a month of searching I decided to buy a L400 Delica. A couple months of searching led me to Cece, a 94' LWB 2.8 TD. Yeah the van has it problems... It's radioactive, a little rusty on the sub frame, and the black smoke is starting now... But I love her!

What did you own before your Delica?

I went 23 years without a car/van/truck. I'm assuming motorcycles don't really count although I am on bike #17 in 44 years of riding.
So I guess the real answer is that I had a '67 International Scout which I sold in '87. I then bought my '91 L300 in 2010.
NOTE: The attached image is there for referral (for those that are not old enough to know what one is), mine was white, I always drove with the roof off, it frequently would catch fire and twice the brakes failed while driving - No damage to report.
