Great read and great timing for me as I litterally just took out my side windows today to get them tinted. I am leaving the back window as is. I was wanting to go with a darker tint so thanks for all of the above posted thoughts.

Hello group!

I am bringing back this thread with a few simple questions. Has anyone DIY their tinted windows? If yes, where did you found the film material that would fit our window size?

Cheers!

I did it for my civic. I bought the film from Canadian tire and cut to fit. The Delica should be easier but without flat windows it's hard to get it not to bubble.

Nxski is right, it comes in rolls and you cut it to size. I did this with my old Chevy van.

Alright, I'll stop by CT and give it a shot. If in the short term it does not look good or start bubbling, I will have it done by pros!

Thanks guys!

Also, don't bother buying the application spray, just put a bit of shampoo and water in a spray bottle, spray on the window and the film making sure the window is clean first. Apply the tint and use a squeegee to push out the bubbles. It will look cloudy for a couple days. Once it has cleared, clean the windows with the auto windex (regular windex will cause the tint to change colours). Another thing to note is that you want to cut it a little bit too large and trim once in place.

I tried tinting our first L300 twice. Both times it bubbled and the 2nd time was worse than the 1st, especially in the hot summer sun.

For the cost and time I put into it, it would have been cheaper and better to go with a pro tint shop. I didn't realize until after I did it that getting it done professionally didn't cost as much as I thought. Plus many shops guarantee it so if it bubbles or cracks, they will redo it.

You can also go to N-Motion Auto for tinting. The address is #113-2323 Boundary Road . They also sell the material at different solar guard. heard they also do a good job. Price starting from $240 for SUV.
