Lots of detailed and illustrated posts on the subject, use the "Search" button on the upper right hand corner of the browser window.

PS: Not aware of much you can check on your own. You need some specialized equipment and know-how to check the Timing and the IP Pressure. Ditto to test the Injector nozzles as well.
