So....
  • We can leave Friday night, drive in the dark; set camp at Porteau Cove (or somewhere near) in the dark; but have the benefit of waking up in a more natural setting (although the Squamish can blow cold).
  • Then there is the option of meeting at say... Canadian Tire car park (North Van, which has a Timmy Ho's) at 07:30hrs, Saturday; leave a 08hrs, have the benefit of daylight travelling; perhaps stop in Squamish for breakfast....

Also, are we planning to go to one place and base out of there? Will we camp in more than one place? What does everyone want to do when we get to where we are going?

Sooooo many questions. :?

Let's clarify :-)

> Toni and Felix are for Friday night
> Jay and Christine? Probably half half :-D
> David?
> Paul is obviously for Saturday morning :?
> Sergiy is for Saturday morning
> Pedro?
> who else is coming???

We would love to go for a hike here and there... Don't want to hang out in Squamish for lunch and dinner :-( Sorry...
We want to be in the WILD :M Let's be spontaneous and see how we like the first camp spot, if we love it > we stay, if not > let's go!

*1: I said breakfast. The idea being planning with breakfast... just an option.

*2: It can be a challenge to be spontaneous late at night when dealing with shelter issues, mind you it is good for improving one's imagination skills! However, we are in our shelters to start with so that broadens our option horizon. I have set camp all over the clock and in different scenarios. I can leave any time, I can take the Miss Lil' Bitchi into different conditions ~ I am considering the commonwealth, as it were. Although I must say that if we leave Saturday morn then I can transform the Miss Lil' Bitchi from paint wagon to expedition lorry on Friday night. If we leave Friday night then I lose Friday day.

But you know.... We have the option of doing both, especially the TardisDeli, with her space/time continuum features. Seriously though, two groups meeting up somewhere, sometime on Saturday morning.

I'll find out by the end of the day if I'm good for Friday night (shouldn't have told my dear wife we were thinking of leaving Sat. morning, now she made plans for me... got to work it out!)

I'd like to see us set up by Furry Creek the first day/night then move to another location (Indian Arm) and carry on to a 3rd location (the one Sergiy mentioned). That way we cover more ground and get better knowledge of the area so next time we know where we like and don't like. As well, we don't worry about leaving gears behind that could be trash by the infamous "ratburn" 8-)

FOOD???
You guys want to bring each your own or do the community stuff?
I volunteered dinner for Saturday night...

I managed to trade back my Friday night kitchen pass in exchange of a massage to my wife... So I'm good for Friday as well but it'd still be nice to go as a group... main thing is once we get there we'll all be together again so whatever rocks your Deli.

I think we have to be realistic. Indian Arm where David is proposing to go and Squamish Valley where I would like to go camping are two opposite directions. I am not sure about the rest of the campers but I personally prefer camping activities vs. driving for 2 days in a row. Another concern is here: http://bb.bc4x4.com/showthread.php?t=22403
David, check your direction accessibility here: http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/DSQ/Engineerin ... mation.htm.
Mine Elaho/Squamish River/Ashlu is OK.

well....... It seems that I will not have my van until 9pm on friday, so no go for friday night for me!! But dont change the plan( if there is one already) just for me , I can definitely catch up saturday morning and be in squamish for 7-8 o'clock. All I need is a "rendez-vous" point and I will be there!!!!( and maybe a map, if it is in the bush!?!).

p.s.: Looks like it is gonna be a chill weekend, better pack up that vodka (haha)!!

edit: I could definitely help with food(e.i.:spagetti sauce, or else) with you david!

Alright, so how about this:

Friday night:
Delicat, Dino, Tardisdeli, (Pedro?) leave from Vancouver area and go camping around Furry Creek/Britania area.

Saturday morning:
Profister, Falco?, (Pedro?) come and get us out of bed and we all drive together to Squamish Valley where there's an official camp site. During the day we can set camp, drive around, go for hikes...
Breakfast: on our own or all together in a restaurant on our way to Squamish Valley.
Lunch: ?
Dinner: Delicat

Sunday:
Same thing, have fun in Squamish Valley. At night we'll loose Profister and ?
Breakfast: each our own.
Lunch: ?
Dinner: ?

Monday,
Delicat, Tardisdeli, Dino, Falco? Pedro? can move back towards Britania area (Indian Arm) for some exploring... or whatever, lots of room to explore.
Breakfast: each our own.
Lunch: ?
Dinner: back in town?

It almost look like I enjoy organizing trips, but I don't... where's Christine when you need her?

Weather forecast looks good!

CHILI from me!

We have enough people that we could include lunches in the group meals. My thought anyway.

:-) Good, the pasta comes from us then! Does anybody has allergies on food?

Anyways, here my recipe: "normal" spaghetti for you guys, glutenfree ones for me. organic tomato sauce with red wine and onions. olive oil, sea salt and pepper. we could add some tofu as well. and some cheese. will bring all and you can choose.

Christine, DeliCat is trying to steal your job!
I am cool with the will & pleasure of the group. I may have to leave Saturday morning ~ depending on how the rest of my week transpires.

Falco (what a squeeller).

P.S.: I still have that tin of nuclear food rolling around somewhere in my bus.

Falco, forget caned food... Are you going to volunteer for some group lunch?

If you leave Sat. morning with Sergiy then I'll give you the exact coordinate where we'll be camping on Friday night.

Ciao!
