Sorry for the Caravan imagery...but here on the far east coast it's hard to get a feeling of size when I can't physically see one.

one thing I can guarantee... it will be significantly TALLER than a caravan

I don't have a family, just myself and my girlfriend. I am torn between the swb and the lwb because it will be used on the weekend for camping and hiking (4x4 roads). But during the week it will be used as a commuter in Vancouver. I'm leaning towards the swb because of its compactness. But I am worried about there not being enough room to sleep in.
Could someone comment on the total available space in each when setting up a sleeping platform. Is the 12" noticeable once there is a bed in place? Would it be worth it if you had to commute in Vancouver every day?

L400, Long wheel base or Short wheel base?
The Lwb would be nice for sleeping in. My first Van was the l300 which has more room than the swb l400. Simply due to the design. I didn't realize this till after. I've gotten used to the swb now but miss the packing room I used to have. It's harder to find the Lwb.
