Feel for you Green1 - but glad yr still bigger, newer, and hopefully better machine. Good luck with the sale - or maybe hang on to her and pull a motor out of a future write off? There's bound to be one eventually. Then you can take the old beast out on those Search & Rescue ops and really put her into some frightening places without fear of wrecking yr daily driver!!!! Just a thought.
Good luck.

Thank you, and at this point, I think the sooner the better (It wasn't supposed to be a rush, but I hadn't planned on this vehicle dying so completely before december...)
I'm rather without a vehicle until I get the new one. Thank you for all your help with the L400, I really appreciate it!

Hey Green1 -
Spoke with Mardy yesterday and found this thread today. Tough break on the motor; I once bought a Honda that threw a conn rod on the drive home from paying for it. When I told the guy I bought it from, I could hear the ba$tard smiling over the phone!
Sounds like my L400 is arriving in the same crate as yours. I've been whispering around my current Toyota so hopefully it won't sense its imminent sale and cough up its transmission or something.
Since I'm still vehicle-enabled, I asked Mardy to make sure that yours gets to the front of his service line. There's nothing worse than waiting for a vehicle, except being vehicle-less while you wait!
So hope things work out better with the new horse. Who knows - maybe we'll meet up at Mardy's shop!
Cheers,
Tony.
