Can't imagine why it didn't leak out slowly - not like it's a big hole or anything. :?

HOLY FRACKIN' H-E-double-hockey-sticks! What would make a tire do that? Somebody soak it down with oven cleaner?

The sliders are from Lee Valley.

Today, next adventure started. I just bought the Westi roof of a 1981 VW. Took a sawzall to it and cut it off the VW van below the rain gutter (so I have the whole roof as a template)......

Big dreams of a pop top!!!

I will look at the warranty, thanks!

Cheers
Now that's frackin awesome, please keep us Delica wanniebees posted on your progress.

In case anyone is looking for Westy parts, there are 3 at Ralphs up against the back wall, just wasting away. They were there back in March. Cant remember the years, but 2 I think were the square top style and one was an old 68-70 something.

Don't think my propane heater would fit with your awesome design. The heater mounts in the passenger side rear window. Sorry :-( :-(

I want one! Since I'm resurrecting this somewhat... Any new mods or changes on the weatherproofing and bug-keeping-out-ing?

few mods the family grew so the toilet section is gone and now the under has room for one of the boys and the front seat has a bed across the front window...he was sleeping on the fold down bench but he grew again the 6 year old is almost as tall as me :o :o :o

The kitchen counter is lower so the boys can see out the back windows...We added an awning but have not used it yet...the toilet will be used in the awning which has an add a room (wife pees twice a night)...

But the slide still is the same and me and the two boys are sleeping in it now (while the boys are asleep in our friends driveway and dad will go to bed soon (wife is sleeping inside their house)

I will update with photos soon... Still working for 4 people -2 adults and 9 and 6 year old...It has a heater but we never run it

hitop is brilliant (thanks Jay (and Christine for putting up with me)) never leaks, I can stand up, storage for all the blankets etc when traveling, I can camp in the rain and no need to dry it out....Sure it is tall but happy I did not do the poptop...

I can stand up and cook inside out of the bugs and rain or stand to change...

New photos soon

Looks great! With the back open is it cold? Or does the weatherstripping help?

Seals up good...I never have run the heat overnight...It is insulated with the kids foam floor tiles and we have -30 bags so it is good...Humidity is our problem with four people breathing :)
