I use Telemark Ski's now instead of Snowshoes. However, almost all the Snowshoes they sell at MEC are good. I would recommend going in there for advice on specifics - and don't be cheap for good ones. (What kind you need depends on terrain).

aahhh, Mr F. my favorite forum member;
Indeed, you watch your soap operas, along with everyone else who is "normal" dont concern yourself with historical facts and the direction of our society.
Besides, there are no conspiracies, all of the subjects that we speak of are just fabricated stories with no truth at all behind them.
Sleep well at night!

If I may add a quote my a 'famous guy' into the mix
"Ignorance is bliss"
As for conspiracy theories and their substance, there is always a grain of truth to every story, however how much have these stories been blown out of proportion? Has anyone ever played the game "Telephone"? Most of the time the resulting sentence at the end of the game is completely different from that at the beginning. When you play the game with the entire world there no longer is truth, there is only opinion.

I have classic Huron-shape wood and catgut snowshoes, and I use lampwick for the binding. Works very well, won't freeze or crack in cold weather, and a break can be repaired by simply knotting the two ends together. And lampwick is really cheap -- you'll spend more time and fuel finding it, than it costs.
If necessary I can take and post photos.

jaggedfish wrote:Falco got me thinking... so I checked Answers.com for the last word in the dictionary...
ZZZ (used to represent the sound of a person snoring.)
That is an onamonapia. So it is technically not a word. It is actually zyzzyva, a South American weevil that tends to infect plants
Huh!... whoooda thunk?

The Oxford English Dictionary lists zythum as the last word, dating back to 1608:
In ancient Egypt: a kind of malt beer. Much of the word's continuing use is due to its status as the last word listed in several dictionaries
Zyzzyva is the scientific genus name of the weevil, and therefore quasi-Latin. I would argue that it is not an English word. And if you do allow it, then you have to also allow the genus name Zyzzyzus, which would file after it.
Now
I have the final word!
