Group lunch?.... That sounds kinda weird. Do we all have to hold hands or something?

Let me see what I can put together. I may have to leave on Saturday morning, as I mentioned earlier. Where and when are the rallying places out of curiosity?

Falco.

By the wayside.... I checked my altimeter this evening.... I think it is going to snow. It certainly feels like it.

Falco, I wonder if the Weather Channel relies on your altimeter :?
David, I did not have a chance to discuss the menu with my lovely cook; I hope I will be able to do it later tonight and give you an update.
Sergiy.

Okay, it is decided. The Saturday Morning Crew will meet at the Tim Horton's in the Canadian Tire car park in North Van (Main & Harbour) at 07:30hrs and depart at 08hrs. We will be driving up Highway 99 and turning off at Furry Creek to meet with the Friday Night Crew at their camp site. FRS radios will be set to 5.22.

...and here is the proposed destination campsite coordinates: N50* 07' 27" W123* 23' 55".
Our crew chief cook said that we will have BBQ meat (beef I guess) for dinner and pancakes for breakfast. She also said that Falco can provide veggies :-)

What a beautiful weekend! Sunny and crisp. Great friends, great food, great campfires, great memories. Some delii are still out there in Squamish. but the TardisDeli & Pedro left the group this afternoon (work, bahumbug). Profister was planning to leave also but were having so much fun they didnt leave with us. You'll see the gorgeous photos when they all return tomorrow.

And we met a new Deli owner -- we were walking out this morning -- and lo along puttered a totally silver deli, and thus we met Loc and family from Vancouver -- very nice people, hunting Christmas Trees. They had made a camper bench similar to the TardisDeli, but with cupboards underneath, and he showed Jay how they installed the 2nd "house" battery with isolator switch, so I think the TardisDeli maybe about to get some more rewiring.

Cheers, Christine.

How was the temp/wind ?

Up north in Whistler it was pretty crazy. Saw two vans get blown literally sideways into the ditch. Almost happened to us, :? the Delica being so high and mighty :-D :M

It was not crazy in the bushes but I got a 270 degree spin  on an icy logging road coming back home and can confirm that Delica's center of gravity is definitely low :-D
While the event is still in progress you can preview the conditions.

That is a beautiful shot, Sergiy. On my way back I had this huge eagle fly right in front of me, across my path, this happened after I took the chains off at the bridge and was too busy negotiating the long winding ice rink with all those tricky potholes. I have pictures; DeliCat has pictures; the crew of the Dino has pictures and they will be posted before too long.

"Sunday Camp" took place on the west face of Powder Mountain at 884M. The inside of the van was around -15 and outside must have been -25 with the wind chill.

We did manage to get a fire going, we were very inspired. This next picture was from the next day, it was much bigger the night before. I was practically sitting in the fire to stay warm.
Image

Some of us had the right idea...
Image

The night was very clear with a bright haloed moon rising in the star littered sky...
Image

We came across ancient glyphs foretelling the coming of the Delica to these lands.
Image

As much as I tried, I couldn't get my mat to flatten out.

After we packed up we went exploring.

It was a great long weekend with really nice people and such an incredible nature. Even if it was really cold, it was a lot of fun. Thanks to Delicat and Falco our Dino got the taste to play around in deep powder :)
