I got some new stickers in the mail so I put them on. Hopefully this doesn't get out of hand. :M And I don't know why the picture is sideways.

I finished the awning rod. I had it working for camping last weekend but my nice tarp is 10 wide not 8'. Yesterday I made it extendable. Tarp clips on in seconds with poles kept on the rack. Doesn't whistle either.

Rod is clipped on using those rubber truck attachment doohickeys

Spent the day fixing my turn signal indicator switch. My daughter decided to use it as a grab handle while getting out a couple days ago and destroyed the plastic housing that holds the stalk in. Everything still works, the stalk just comes out every time you use it or turn left. For $460 I could get a new one, but I decided to spend $10 on some epoxy and super glue. Not sure how it will hold up but at least it will give me time to save up my bottle money.

UPDATE: Shockingly it didn't work. F%&K. If anyone has a used signal indicator switch with auto lights that they would like to part out let me know. Pisses me off that I can't get just the signal switch from a vendor and I have to buy the whole signal/wiper stalk assembly. It is a screwed on part that slides off the assembly yet I can't seem to get that without buying the whole damn thing... for $460! I think I am going to go punch a baby to relieve some stress. END rant now.

Installed the shiny intercooler tubes, red silicone hoses and T-bar clamps. Put the OE rubber hoses into my spare parts bin cuz you never know if a failure is just around the corner or not.

Makes a bit-o-difference off the line. Wonder if MPG will be affected. Wait and see I guess

I finally made my back/under seat storage box. Well, not so much made, more like "scrounged".
Next to my work is an electrical contractor. In their metal scrap bin were several electrical panel boxes. A few measurements proved that three of these would be almost the exact size of the wood box I was planning to make.

Hey! Pre-made steel boxes the same size! Minimal effort! Why not!

OK,OK, I had to do some cutting, drilling and re-fitting but that was pretty easy and this afternoon is all it took to complete the the job. No more big black clunky box in the back with not underseat storage capabilities.

The Fit:
Box 1 slides completely under the back bench seat.
Box two butts up against box 1 and box 3 was cut down to sit on box 2 to give more depth for storage behind the bench.

It was like they were made for Delicas.

Nice box

Similar in size to the ones princess auto was selling (and peavy mart) in aluminum. I have two in my l400 for tools and crap. Mostly crap. Nice work!

Winter oil change today.
Figured I would get my friend to do his as well. It's a 1993 Toyota Surf.
He has been talking about changing his a while.
So I found the right oil filter for his and we did it over lunch.
Scary thing though.. he's been taking his Surf to a 30 min oil change
and they have been screwing him over. Here's the low down..
Tell him, it will take 20 minutes to get the right oil filter.
He waits...
Presto it's done.

I check the filter and it's dated wayyy back. It's original.
They haven't been changing the oil filter, only the oil. For the
past 3 oil changes. And charging him for the whole thing.

Anyway.. Oil, filter were changed on my L400 and his Surf
Good hour for both.. nice and clean. Oil in the pail to go
in for collection. (filters too)

Red? I was changing mine to blue (can't stand the stock sickly orange). Are you using LEDs or incandescents?
Well couldn't stand the green in the Deli!

I've found LED over the net for a good price but most important, they would be plug&play!

There will be an extensive post about what I've used and for what soon!

Are you doing all the switches as well? They look good in blue :) although my eldest daughter says not! The only switches on mine that do not glow blue now are the heater controls (not got round to that, yet) and the drivers door switches, the led on that are soldered to the board and no matter how I test connect the blue LEDs up they don't work! :(
