Light upgrades are cool! Especially killer LED units.

Installed new spark plugs, wiring harness, front calipers and brake pads, gas filter, and upper ball joints. Changed the oil and filter too.

Installed the roof rack and basket and now it's all ready for fishing season.

Well, it was finally nice out today and got myself off my *** and got some work done! The AirLift bags I had in the rear coils gave up the ghost sometime over the winter and I was sick of having to use them for a lift so I went to my local metal supermarket and got some spacers made up! 6" bar stock and then to the machine shop to get them drilled out.

(My hand is under there somewhere.)

You can see how much sag there is. Wasn't planning on going for that trophy truck look, but, if the shoe fits!

You can see how well the rubber held up over the winter, just lovely.
So springs are out, now to get the bags out. I can attest that they are extremely tough and durable, what failed was not these beasts. I had to get them out of the coil by prying them up with a screwdriver space by space.

Compress the new springs to re install.

-Now, I didn't take pictures of the whole process because it was pretty dangerous and not something I want to be responsible for others doing. Needless to say that my coil compression tools weren't enough to make them as small as they needed to be in one go. It was a very precarious slightly frightening!

For anyone considering the AirLift system, I can say that make sure you have routed the lines in a place that they definitely will not be pinched. On the left side the hose ended up getting pinched between the rubber spacer and the bag. On the right side the hose pulled right off the bag. After one winter the metal spring clips that hold the tubing onto the bags rusted and fell apart. If I put them back in one day I will use some sort of pinch clamp. The rubber degrading like that is pretty sad though. I'm wondering if the airbags let go so the rubber just bounced around but you can clearly see where the bolts made a deep impression and certainly didn't help things.

Now that it's finally sitting almost as it should, my headlights will point in the right direction! I wish I had've got my spacers a little bigger though, oh well, next time!

Also, my horn stopped working. After checking the fuse and seeing that it was fine I decided to have a look at the horns themselves.
This one is in better shape than the other, which doesn't have any wiring connected to it at all anymore. Excuse to upgrade I think!!

How did you like the Duratracs in the ice this winter? I ended up doing a 180 on a 401 on-ramp. In 4WD. I love the look of them and in everything except ice they're great!

Busik had glow-plug problem. Relay was usually not engaging after turning key into ON position, only after turning engine once or twice, and lately not even then.

So... with a head full of information about ECU fails and so I digged into it... and found loose screw where the cable was attached to glow-plug rail. Tightened and all is well.

It was done. Super simple. Sold the van now though. Found some guy in UK that did it. Looked at available piping here. You choose your size. Make sure it's shiny. Boom. Done!

so far this week, I have replaced the inclinometer, fitted a hands free phone kit and replaced the pop out window behind the drivers door due to the hinge seperating from the frame! it took me longer to peel the tint off the replacement window and clean it than it did to pull the busted one and stick it back into the truck, I may just take the hose to it tomorrow and wash it :)

Finally removed my winter air damn/skid plate (got a little hot climbing hills) in the process broke then re-riveted that funky little rubber air-damn thing on the front of the skid plate.

Then installed a new K&N A.F. - Can't wait to see if there is a noticeable difference since I've already done the 2.5" side-exit exhaust.

I sanded one front indicator light. Looks a bit better, not as yellow.

It's too bad Mitsubishi decided to make that casing in plastic instead of glass.

I bet the rear lights would be a little brighter if I did the rear plastic covers as well, but it wouldn't make a huge difference.

[update] the fellow who assessed the van told me he did his neighbors' headlights with 2000 grit sandpaper, then polished them, said they looked much better than mine.

Removed the EGR, installed EGR blanking plates.
Not sure if I am being superstitious, but I think the van accelerates a lot better now, even while going uphill. It feels like the engine can breathe now.
There was a lot of soot in the pipes but I put the blanking plates on top of the holes anyway.
Would it have been better for me to clean the inside of those pipes first? If yes, with what... clutch cleaner?

replaced the fluorescent tube with an 18" aquarium tube from PetWorks, nice and bright now.

I suspect the smaller one(s) with the red sleeve need replacing as well, but I can't see an easy way of retrieving them.

I went around and caulked every imaginable crevasse where water might work its way in...it's still working its way in!

Two weeks ago the cassette player worked, when I drove to Ottawa last week, while on my way, the cassette player refused to work at all: Insert the tape, the tape player *seemed* to want to play the tape, tape ejected, tape player turned itself off. Every time, with different cassettes.
Yesterday I removed the radio/cassette deck, opened it, cleaned it all.
This morning, re-installed it, same behaviour as before. Tape in, 2 seconds, tape out, bye bye.

Installed a 12V plug into the back of the middle "organizer" I bought from CT 2 weeks ago. The plug is between the kids' cup holders now. Ran the wire inside the organizer, around the driver's seat, and plugged the wires into the two "mystery" wires I mentioned before, sticking out from under the carpet right in front of the driver's seat.

Tried the tape deck again, decided to turn a cassette's two wheels backward a bit to loosen up the tape before putting the cassette back into the deck.
The tape played Chumbawamba no problem! Am hoping the tape deck decided it is good again now.

I ordered a 6-CD Changer cartridge, hoping it will work. I feel like I am gambling. If it works then I will just have the radio frequencies to fix. I bought a cassette adapter for iPod but haven't tried it really yet, when I tried it yesterday the tape deck simply spit it out like it spit out all the tapes.

Noticed that the top part of the window behind the driver seems to have become unglued (?) from its metal bracket. Am I correct to think the glass used to be glued?
It explains why the windows rattles when my son opens it, it's only holding on by the bottom bracket. I told him to keep his window closed for the time being.

Took out the rear window washer tank, there was algae in it. I read online that's probably because in Japan sometimes they use tap water instead of windshield washer fluid.

Cleaned it out, sprayed compressed air and WD-40 into the pipes, tested them, including the valve (over engineering?) which is between rubber tubes before the sprayer.

Works now. Right now that sprayer has water with Mr. Clean to work with. When the tank is empty (before the Fall for sure) I will refill it with -45 windshield fluid.

When I activated it without the sprayer in place, I noticed that little pump is pretty strong, I wonder how quickly it can empty the tank.

Want to do the same with the front, if there was algae in the rear tank there may be some in the front tank. Except the front tank may be harder to reach, it's under the batteries and the overflow tank I think.
