Was wetcoast really banned over this thread? If this is true, it seems a bit extreme. Perhaps there is something I'm missing or other extenuating circumstances. If nothing else, it did lead to a lot of lively discussion - maybe we do need a "water cooler" like after oil said
#1 other forums have a "water cooler" subforum for completely off topic discussion. obviously plenty of people want to have this discussion, and in general im curious to discuss off topic matters in order to "get to know" some of the forum members.

He was banned for it?!!? OK, I don't agree with him at all about this, but in NO WAY do I think he did anything remotely deserving banishment... *sighs* So much of the fun is being drained from this forum lately it seems.... :(

Most of the other forums I participate in have an "off topic" section, which is ideal for these types of conversations. wetcoast mentioned that his IP was banned - but his avatar suggests that he is not. In most forum software when a participant is banned their avatar status changes to reflect this. I suspect he may have just come upon a routing error as opposed to the banhammer.

At least several people that support man made global warming took the time to PM me on the subject. We had a frank discussion on the subject, discussed facts, shared viewpoints etc etc. Very healthy discussion. No attacks. Respectful. Please not that now that my IP is banned, I cannot respond to your PM's. Please email me if you want to carry on the discussion. There is nothing wrong with this thread. I didnt see any person attacks or anything malicious. Sorry the best you could do is try to ban me. Very sad, reminds me of the Phil Jones (guy at center of controversy) trying to silence his critics. At least he has admitted the harm/distraction this scandal has caused and decided to step down as reported in the associated press a couple hours ago.
The last IP to get banned was the one belonging to "Konnichiwa" as he had left the club and had asked that we delete his account. The one before that was spam from the Ukraine.
However, perhaps we ought to set up a "Water Cooler" forum for the general topics beyond Delica General. I agree, it is a good way to understand drivers views outside of the Delica world

Generally I have found that water cooler sections become more important as the forum grows in the total number of users. When the user base is small, everyone just uses the "General" section.
It is usually best practice to move threads such as this into the Offtopic sections, IMHO anyways. :)

Maybe we should call it the "Radiator Forum" ~ Just to keep with the Delica theme (get it? ~ radiator/water cooler...).

Okay, I see what has happened. Konnichiwa & Wet Coast were operating from the same IP address. Good friends I suspect. And now I see the writing styles are similar, too.
On a personal note: Konnichiwa/WetCoast; this is not the best I can come up with, if I gave you the best then I would probably get fired as a moderator. I, personally, am open to ideas. Although I think Alex Jones is generally sensational & long winded, he has come up with good observations, albeit second hand ones. I think Zeitgeist is a very good film....
No, I wouldn't want to "silence" you because your point of view is different from mine ~ not my style. I really believe it takes many colours to paint a "big picture" and I really value the freedom of speech in Canada. Actually, I could really care less what you talk about so long as you are courteous and reasonably well behaved about it.
My apologies to everyone for my brief exhausting out of my intake manifold.

they may just both work for the government or another company so are behind the same firewall, or are on the same ISP and it's one that purposely changes IP's frequently to try and avoid home web servers and the like.
we had someone banned on another forum I frequent and the mod posted the IP and the users that had posted from that IP (in a private section) and 5 other users, a couple being completely opposite to the troll and highly respected, had posted from that IP more than the troll.
