Hello Everybody!

In March my l300's bodywork will be restored completely with new paintwork and restored undercoating.
The van's interior will be disassembled completely.

Now i will be happy if i get a few advices, before i start this progress.

Thanks! ;)

Not sure what advice you need?

Sounds like a good idea.

When undercoating make sure the chassis drain holes are not plugged up (so the frame does not get full of stuff that cannot drain out).

What are your plans exactly?

My favorite paint is applied with a foam roller and the total paint job costs about $75.00. That way when it gets scratch there is no sadness.

Make sure your mechanical is 100% first...no point in new paint if the timing belt breaks and the motor is destroyed.

Good luck...Maybe some Before and After photos.

Sorry for my English, I have no excuses as it is my native language.

I would advise against undercoating a n older vehicle unless you plan to strip everything out and sandblast all areas of the undercarriage. Worse case scenario is you undercoat over hidden "cancers" and will not be able to see the rot until its far too late or costly to repair. I would not get undercoating on a new car unless it came directly from the factory as such.

As for painting, prep work is always the most important aspect of spraying new paint. Sand/ScotchBrite your surfaces and clean with a body prep solvent (3M makes a good one, but the market is full of them). Then clean the panels again. And again. Don't forget to clean the panels before spraying. Oh and clean again. :-D
