Hello from Alberta!!

Hello All!

I'm Julie :-D Marty(hubby) and I live in Cochrane, Alberta with our 3 kids and we are trying to find a Delica for myself. It was a toss up between the Pajero and the Deli but I think I'll be happier with the latter.
One question- are there any dealerships in Calgary that have Delica's? I've never driven a right hand drive, and while I'm not that worried about it, I still would love to take one for a drive, if possible. Any help would be much appreciated!
Also-anybody have any experience with Terra2imports?

I have to say that it's great to find this site:)
Take Care!
Julie

Not so much a dealer, but an importer. Seem to have good reviews. Located in Calgary.

We would love that :-) Thank you! We saw a Deli driving around Cochrane 2 nights ago and I nearly followed it to get a better look....LOL Didn't want to look like a stalker though  I can imagine you guys get lots of looks and drive-by's.

Anyway, barring a medical emergency, we will be at the next meet-up :)

And thanks for the info CREGAN!

Julie

Hi Julie (and Marty)!
Firstly, welcome to the Club! Haven't had experience with Zen Autoworks personally but it seems they don't have any Delis in stock for you to look at (at the moment anyway). We can all share our experiences with our purchases with you guys in person if you like.

As Madmazda said, we would be happy to show you around our buses! Seeing a bunch in one place and chatting about first-hand experiences is the best way to get a good feel for Delicas. The members who have come out to our meets and outtings have a variety of different vans... low roof, high roof, crystallite, L300, L400... some stock, some modified. I think at least a number of us were looking for an excuse to get together again, so you are giving us a great reason :-D

I will post something shortly on the Alberta events page and see what we can do. I have been wanting to get back out to our last location again (see the Member Trips) so we could plan a Timmy's stop in Cochrane in the AM or we could also plan an evening gathering at Peter's or something like that on top of that so there is time to chat more.
Cheers!
Ian

Thanks Ian! I took a look at your last outing:) Looks like it was a blast! We would be really interested in taking a look, where ever you guys want to stop:) We have no issues coming out to Calgary...We're just thankful to have found such a generous bunch of Deli owners:D Thank you!

I know there is a camperized Deli with a pop-top up on the hill in the SW corner of Cochrane, maybe that's the one you followed.

My wife and I are in Cochrane occasionally. I'll try and let you know next time I head out there if you don't get a chance to see one earlier.

Hi Julie,
Welcome, and you have not only found a great site, but also a great community! (you've probably already discovered).

I bought my L300 through Terra 2 about 3 years ago. Nice guys, smooth transaction, etc - but I paid a premium price for my van, and I was on my own with compliance, and the van was delivered to me as is - they are primarily importers. No preventative maintenance, no warranty - plus I had to wait 2 months for my van to arrive from Japan.

I suggest that you contact one of the preferred dealers here in vancouver, get a van with all the belts, fluids already done, and one with a warranty. It's a little piece of mind - go with someone with a good history at delica.ca.
Rising sun just got some new L400's http://www.rs-import.ca/
Also, Mardy at amazing autos has a very well established track record here. http://www.amazingautoimports.com/

And by the way, I recommend a crystalite roof for your kids.
