L400 Speedometer & Odometer

Just wondering if many of you have noticed if your L400 speedometer reads quite a bit higher than actual? And is the speedo linked with the odometer or are they independant of one another.
From my GPS unit and from those road sign that indicate your current speed as you approach construction zones etc it appears my speedo is high by around 7-10kmh...and that is with 235/75R15 Duratracs that are a little bigger than stock tire size. I guess I am not actually rocketing through the hills as fast as I thought lol (still faster than my Surf regardless)...but on the bright side it is a great reason to get a lift and 31's sooner than later to correct that gauge reading.
I haven't verified my odometer with the GPS yet but I hope it isn't also ~10% high. That would mean my fuel ecconomy is worse than calculated. I have been getting fuel ecconomy of around 12.9-13.5L/100kmh which is fine but if the odo is 10% off that shifts to 14-15L/100km which is kind of on the high side of the reported fuel ecconomy ranges here...boo.
