Hi there, I was wondering if anyone was interested in doing a meet up here in the Pemberton Valley? I am willing to organise a meet on a weekend and it would be a good opportunity to get out and camp for those interested.

What I am proposing :

Set up a meet towards the end of June/start of July on my next days off. People can drive up and camp and take advantage of what is up here to see. Fellow Delica owners up here run Pemberton Soaring glider flights and Cayoosh Expeditions Paragliding. Another friend runs Whistler Skydiving. I can talk to these folks and see if we can arrange a discount for those who show up. I would offer to supply a couple of cases (Onterrible cases ie 24) of beer for a Saturday night meet.

There is plenty of camping in the area (Nairn Falls, Meager creek, Strawberry point, any back logging road), several hot springs, that Whistler place, etc. So there are lots of things to do and places to get stuck!

If you are interested, please comment and express your interest for a time/weekend preference and level of interest in activity - gliding, paragliding, skydiving.

Count us in on the trip, thanks for organizing. I find that this group is very parsimonious, and hate to pay for camping, so an open field is fine for them. Cheers, Christine.

We also would be interested in this. A specific date would help all to plan (but the time frame you mention works).

I like the field idea or a space where we can all camp. I don't mind paying for camping and the wife loves HOT showers.

Sounds like an excellent idea! My schedule is constantly changing so I'll try my best to attend.

I would be interested as my son is playing soccer in the green river league this spring and it would be nice to camp for a change.

great idea, time for some more fishing and camping. Interested goofycart??

I would definaty to make it out there. It's tough to find free camping in the valley, might need to venture up the Hurley a little ways. Strawberry Point is one of my favorite places in the corridor but not really a drive in place. Is there camping at mosquito lake or just day use.Good fishing there! There are a few spots at the mouth of the Lillouet river, just at the base of the Duffy. And I would most likely bring my 4 and 2 year old kids.Look forward to hearing more plans.

Okay so I believe I have my work schedule sorted out and I am proposing the weekend of June 18/19th for those interested in coming up to Pemberton.

If anyone is interested in doing the gliding/skydiving/paragliding then please PM me and I will try to get a deal. There are a lot of great easy to get at GeoCaches on the way up to visit as well for those interested.

I am open to any ideas about camping areas and will try to get coordinates for some I know, only the BC park areas will have washrooms and water. I hope to have my camping bed system finished and be able to join you but I will likely have to work Sat/Sun at the gliding club helping my friend. We can get 1/2 BBQs going that evening and I will have some beer on hand for those who show up!

My crew is in and we are interested in a skydiving lesson. As for the place to camp the best free campground is Meager Creek HS. Those HS are not accessible but the campsite is. Pebble Creek HS nearby are OK.
I think we will take off from North Van on Friday, June 17th evening.

Anyone going to the cvi event aswell? perhaps we could arrange a convoy to pemberton?

Looking forward to meeting those folks who are making it up to Pemberton. I will try to find a camping spot when I get home on Thursday.
