Hey guys,
currently in Sacramento road tripping around california. I recently noticed that the engine is taking a long time to cool down post shutdown. For instance, today after an hour or so of city driving and after waiting till the pyrometer bottomed out, the engine compartment was still cookin' 2 hours after shutdown. My coolant levels look good, and temperature gauge isn't acting abnormally.... am I just being paranoid?

Cheers

I assume it is warm and dry and you have an automatic doing lots of long drives with hills.

In warm weather with automatic I would not worry to much as long as you EGT is ok and your temp gauge is normal.

You could blow out all the radiators (oil, coolant, transmission) with a water hose from the back side. Also if your running the Air-conditioner it also is adding heat to the system.

Seems normal....
