Hello,

I need to know if the Air conditioning on a 1992 L300 has an "orifice tube" or an "expansion valve" .

Here is the deal: The a/c was dead this spring. So I got the system changed over to the new updated whatever and re-charged. That cost $260.

2 days later it is dead again,no cold air, so I bring it back. They look again and find a leak on the compressor. So they tell me that the options are:

- remove and replace
- install an air conditioning sealant product that goes in with the coolant and seals the leak from the inside, and re-charge again.

The guy at the garage says: This sealant product works really good and consistently well on A/C units that have an "orifice tube", and not so well on a/c units that have an "expansion valve".

SO, I NEED TO KNOW DOES THE L300 A/C HAvE AN ORIFICE TUBE OR AN EXPANSION vALvE?

tHANK YOU,

Brandelica
