Wow, quite the set up ~ looks pretty comfortable. I see you have a map of the world in the cabin, is this a clue to your future plans?
Falco.
P.S.: Time to update your profile, looks like you got a vehicle now... smiles.

Hey everyone, thanks for the compliments. We are happy with the arrangements so far and have mostly been able to save camping fees here in the states by 'overnight parking' at various locations. So far so good with not one visit from the 'friendly' troopers...
The rims are from Japan and came with the delica. I tried to search online for them to see if I could source a rim for my spare tire carrier but I turned up nothing. They are Japanese rims and only available in Japan (I think) tho I see a few brits have them too. They are 16"x8" with 265/75R16 on them.
REAR TIRE CARRIER: this is a simple mod I had done up thanks to my Bro in law(and some of his staff) who works at a metal fabrication facility. We pulled it off in a week so it is not as 'clean' as I would like and my dreams of fancy stuff decidedly turned to 'what can you do fast'.
Note that Jesse and his pals have fabbed up a spare tire carrier for the L300 (you can search this site) and when you keep it simple the ideas become similar.
I have had the fortune that my delica came with a tow hitch and this allows me to 'bolt on' to it with my spare tire carrier. Jerrycans from canadian tire are harder to deal with than the Spectre or army surplus cans - but considerably cheaper. Couldn'd source our a fancy closing 'gate latch' for the carrier in Fredericton so am using a 6" trailer pin that we can lock with a padlock. This will give us extra protection of the rear of the van and all our storage....hopefully we won't have any break-ins!

I like the headboard with built in cooling fans. 'Cool' idea.
