Apparently there were Ford Ranger's made in the 80's that used a similar engine as well.
1994Delicaman have you looked into this any further?

Yeah The 2.3L 4d55 was used in the rangers from 1985 to 1987, and they were turbocharged.

Ok, this is what I've found so far searching a few forums, not sure how accurate it is:



- diesel Dodge RAM D50 1983-1986. 4D55T, 2.3L

- 4D55 in Ford Ranger 1985-87, 2.3L

- Mazda (Bseries)

- Dodge Mighty Max.....

Not sure if this is going to make much of a difference to you but Dodge made the Raider which was the same platform as the Mitsubishi Mighty Max, pajero, montero, Strada, L300, etc... (It's nice to get the vehicle names right when you're sourcing parts, you usually get the right result in the end but the Lordco people can get annoyed with you )
