The winter road into the north end of the Ghost river opens December 15th. We tried as a group to go out there last January but the drifts were too much. I will be going out on December 17th to check out the ice conditions, there are a few shallow river crossings, a couple of steep and perhaps icy hills, and some beautiful ice falls along the trip.

Great to hear from you Madmazda. I'll PM you here in a sec but just to mention that the Dec. 17th trip is a road trip. I would guess that it is a three hour trip from Calgary to end of trail if we go that far. (two hours to the falls).

That being said, if anyone else is interested regarding climbing some ice then contact me, Novices are welcome, gear rental is cheap.. ...

We would certainly be interested in going out for a trek. The house is finished and we wanna have a bit of fun! Would be great to catch up finally too.

Hey Hey Ian your alive... we went out this last sunday and was fantastic... trail in was easy and the views were georgeous.... I'm sure Carp will post pics of our climb....

Yup! Am alive!

I got DEEP into house renos for a while and was absent from just about everything except work. We also had some other stuff to deal with that took us out of the loop for a bit. We now have 3 new bathrooms, 2 new decks, new firepace facing and fresh paint and mouldings all thru including the wood paneling which was almost 80 hours of painting in itself!

Itching to get out and have some fun now that we have everything out of the way...

great stuff good to hear you got all your chores done.... well if the weather holds and doesnt dump too much snow we will have to go past where we ( carp ) and I and dee went ice climbing... aparently it continues 15 kms past where we were

Mountain espresso white mule.... your always invited yes was a blast scared to death but am getting ice tools so i can go again and again.... damn you dennis spending more $$$$$ oh well worth it.... will be good to get out for a meet for sure....

Well... Linda went off to the cabin for a week so I am available either day this weekend so far if anyone decideds to go out for a run. Will charge up the cameras just in case

We are going out on Saturday, December 3rd and plan on leaving town around 11 AM. The plan is to drive back into the ghost, now that the road is open and check out the conditions. We plan to stay out over night and go climbing first thing Sunday. Ian, join us for the drive on Sat. We'll make sure you get back to town. Anyone else?
