L400 external temp probe and mystery plug?

For those wanting to know where the external temp probe is for your dash pod, here it is below.
It is located in front of the driver's side front wheel next to the horn assembly.
I now know why mine shows -29 on the pod since the female end shown is not attached.
Anyone have any idea where the male end would be? Or where the line runs?

Second, does anyone know what this plug is for below? You can see the male and female ends are unplugged, just above the horn assembly.
I do not want to join these if it is unnecessary. I know that my probe and pod temp are working as I tried plugging it into the orange male end and the pod external temperature started changing.

It was an option on this model in '94, but not on mine.

It may be a plug for the lefts side AC condenser fan, as I believe I have a 2 fan system.
Will confirm tomorrow, as I have seen a similar orange plug on the right side of another 2 fan system.

Any chance that Mitsu would install an external temp probe and not hook into the pod???
Mardy said that mine did not come with the 3 pod, just the 2; he put the 3 pod in when my van arrived.
This being the case, could I just run a wire from the probe to the pod to hook up?

The orange plugs are obviously stock Mitsu; could they be for an optional accessory of a fog or driving light?

its an option joe,
previuos delica owner has this option if they want this outside temp sensor pod or not.
i seen many of those on exceed and the wiring is disconnection;
i guess when they make the wiring from super exceed thru exceed model they put it all together
its up to the customer if they want to get it installed
cheers;

So then Mardy, I just need the wiring loom from the pod to the external probe?
May I come by and pull one from your parts vans?

Just learned from the boys at the Delica UK site, that if you have the correct internal temperature showing on the pod cluster, and you have the disconnected external temperature probe installed, then you do have the wiring for the probe in the wiring loom to the pod cluster. Makes absolute sense! Now off to find it and then join the two mystery orange plugs together to see what happens!

Case closed. Sprayed out the female purple plug at then end of the external temp probe with canned air, and then did the same with the male orange mystery plug shown above. I then connected them, and voila this time! My external temperature on my pod cluster no longer reads permanent -29. It reads 8 and climbed as I held the end of the probe to 14, released it and it went back to 8 degrees. My ignorance leads me to believe that the plugs are not necessary to colour match! Also noticed a couple of these unused orange female mystery plugs, assuming they are various factory options.
